One of the most important aspects of planning an event the size and scope of the Verde Valley Wine Festival is the safety, beauty and quality of the venue. Where the event happens is just as important as the food, wine, music and people. For the past two years, our chosen venue has been the Clarkdale Town Park. It’s beautiful, centrally located, and provides enough room for both vendors and Festival-goers.
When we learned that the Town Park was undergoing a soil remediation project that would make it unavailable for our event, we were understandably surprised. We needed to find a replacement venue that offered a central location, public restrooms, and enough space for everyone involved – and we didn’t have a whole lot of time to fine one.
Luckily, the Town of Clarkdale quickly stepped up to offer us access to the beautiful and historic facilities at the Clarkdale Town Complex. We’re greatly appreciative that the town is working with us to make sure we have a safe, comfortable location for the Festival so we can go on with the show. There’s a lot to love about the Town Complex. It gives us the amount of room we need to accommodate the food and wine vendors as well as our lineup of live music. It also gives us the ability to use both the indoor and outdoor facilities, no matter what the weather brings, we’re ready.
The schedule of events won’t change a bit. Our Friday night VIP dinner, part of the VIP Platinum Experience, is still happening. Instead of hosting it at the park, we’ll be holding it at the Town Complex at the Men’s Lounge facility. The Saturday Main Event schedule remains the same too- 12 pm to 5 pm, with an early opening at 11 am for VIP ticket holders.
If you’ve already purchased your tickets, make sure you note the change in location. The Town Complex is only a short walk from the park, at the corner of Main and 9th Street. And don’t forget to spread the word about the venue change to make sure your friends and family are in the know.
See you May 12th!
